The police today arrested three persons and booked several others for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a Sector 66 resident over a financial dispute near the Sector 82 market this morning.

Sandeep Malik, Devinder Singh and Amit were arrested, while unidentified individuals have been booked under Sections 109, 140(3) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the IT City Police Station.

Complainant Gurinder Kaur stated that her husband, Inderjit Singh, who runs a furniture manufacturing unit, had a financial dispute with the accused.

Around 9 am today, he left home to visit his Sector 82 unit but was allegedly intercepted by the accused, who beat him up and forcibly bundled him into his jeep before driving away.

DSP (City-2) Harsimran Singh Bal said the police managed to apprehend the suspects within four hours. A sports utility vehicle (SUV) used in the crime was also recovered.
