In observance of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, a legal awareness camp was held today at the Old Age Home, Red Cross Society, Sector-15, Panchkula. The event was conducted under the direction of Surya Partap Singh, Member Secretary, Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA), and guided by Ved Parkash Sirohi, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, DLSA.

Aparna Bhardwaj, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA, attended the camp and sensitised the elderly residents about their legal rights. She was joined by Panel Advocate Kushal Chand and PLV Veena Rani.

The residents were informed about their entitlements under the NALSA (Legal Services to Senior Citizens) Scheme, 2016, including the availability of free legal aid. The helpline numbers 15100 and 0172-2585566 were shared.
