Canter driver attacked with knife, looted
Mohali, October 29
A canter driver, who reached the Zirakpur area to drop rice bags at a godown, was attacked and robbed by three unidentified persons today.
The victim, who suffered injuries, has been identified as Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Chanak Chak village in Kaithal district, Haryana. A security guard of a hotel took him to a local hospital from where he was referred to the GMCH-32, Chandigarh.
The police said the trio attacked Rajesh with a knife when he reached Zirakpur. The suspects also looted him of Rs6,000, a silver chain and important documents, including vehicle’s RC, driving licence, PAN card and Aadhaar card. A case has been registered. — TNS
