Chandigarh: A person was killed and another injured after the car they were travelling in rammed into a crane from the rear near the Airport light point on the night of August 14. Upender, a transporter in Sector 26, alleged that the car, driven by Suresh Kumar, a resident of Mansa, rammed into the crane from the rear at the Airport light point. Suresh and another car occupant, Gagandeep, suffered injuries in the mishap. They were admitted to the GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Suresh succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment. A case has been registered at the Sector 31 police station. TNS

Chandigarh: Makhan Majra resident Bhola Kumar Paswan alleged that Sunny, Amit and David, all residents of Mauli, stole his scooter parked near his house on the night of August 12. A case has been registered at the Mauli Jagran police station. Sector 52 resident Sanjay Kumar reported that an unknown person stole his motorcycle parked near his house on the night of August 8. Chandigarh: A Sector 41 resident reported that an unidentified pedestrian ran away after snatching her mobile phone near Sector 41-A here on August 15. A case has been registered at the Sector 39 police station. TNS

Woman loses Rs12K in ATM fraud

Chandigarh: Three unidentified persons swapped an ATM card of a Maloya woman and withdrew Rs12,800 from her account at an ATM booth in Maloya on August 13. On a complaint of the victim, a case has been registered at the Maloya police station. TNS
