The CBI Court in Chandigarh has sent suspended DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar to judicial custody until November 20. The CBI produced Bhullar in court after his five-day remand in a disproportionate assets case ended today. The CBI arrested Bhullar and his alleged aide, Kirshanu Sharda, on October 16 for seeking a bribe from a complainant.

Narender Singh, public prosecutor for the CBI, argued that the accused should not be released because of his influential position and prayed that the court send him to judicial custody. He also said that the accused has not cooperated with the investigating agency during the remand. HS Dhanoa and RPS Bara appeared as counsel on behalf of the accused.

After hearing the arguments, the court sent Bhullar to judicial custody till November 20. The court had also sent Sharda to judicial custody yesterday.
