Cee Dee Mulligans came with an impressive 6-1 win over unbeaten Sultans of Swing during the last league stage of the Chandigarh Golf League-2024. Needing 4.5 points to qualify, they finished seventh overall (in terms of points) and will now face Netsmartz Tigers in the Super 12 pre-quarterfinal on Sunday.

Fairway Comets progressed with 4-3 win over Hunting Hawks. The side will face Captain’s 18 in the first knockout round. Jubilee Chandigarh Gladiators scored a 5-2 win over Green Gators in their final Group C match. Empire beat Canam Raptors 5-2 but the result was not enough for either team to go ahead.

Mulligans’ Angad Sangha and Bismad Singh logged wins. Sultan Singh Matharoo combined with Col Harjeet Singh for 5&4 win. Gauhar Pruthi combined with Fateh Singh Dhillon for a 1-Up win and take his team through to the knockouts.

The Comets took on the fancied Hunting Hawks and saw out a close match in their favour. Kulwaran Singh won for the Hawks, while IS Dhillon and Kanwaljit SIngh Gill along with Rajiv Janjua and JV Dhindsa won for the Comets. Two games finished all square following Raman Gill’s 6&5 win in the opening singles.

Gladiators got into the knockouts for the third straight year. Kunal Nandwani in the singles and the pair of Dilsher Sukhija and Gurmehar Singh won the points for the Gators. Col VP Singh and Lt Gen BS Sachar won 3&2, while the anchor game saw Dalbir Randhawa and Harjeet Singh combine to win 2&1. Empire beat Canam Raptors in an upset.
