Chandigarh, May 12
The Union Government has allotted 33,000 vaccines for Chandigarh to be administered to persons in the age group of 18-45 years.
The vaccines will reach Chandigarh on Wednesday and the vaccination will be started to eligible beneficiaries from May 14 onwards. The beneficiaries will have to book a slot and obtain time and place of vaccine through CoWIN portal. There is no facility for walk-in vaccination.

UT Adviser Manoj Parida said in addition to the existing vaccination venues in the government sector, additional venues would be opened in a few schools, exclusively for this age group of beneficiaries. The details of the venues will be intimated individually to the beneficiaries while booking the slot.
The beneficiaries may check their time slot online. The vaccinations will be administered in a phased manner to avoid crowding at different venues.
Dr Amandeep Kang, Director of Health Services, has stated that all necessary arrangements would be made on selected sites to ensure that Covid protocol was strictly followed and doses were administered under proper medical supervision.
