Vijaypal Singh, president, said, “At a time when our brothers and sisters in Punjab are facing unprecedented hardships, Chandigarh has risen with open hearts. From households to volunteers, everyone has contributed in their own way. This unity is our true strength. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government is working tirelessly to rescue people, provide shelter, and restore normalcy. Together, we will overcome this calamity and rebuild with resilience.”

This relief effort transcends religion, caste, and class. Contributions have come from both the rich and the poor. The SC cell and ward heads have made special contributions. Councillors have also made efforts beyond their wards, including Subhan Sharma, Shadab Rathi, Ramchander, Hardeep, Jasbir Ladi, Prem Lata and Sandeep Dahiya.

He said that the relief consignment includes ration kits, medicine, and large water bottles.

“We are taking responsibility to deliver these essentials directly to Fazilka and surrounding villages. Our commitment will continue until Punjab fully recovers,” he added.
