The Chandigarh Administration has eased curfew restrictions until 1 am for Janmashtami, officials said on Wednesday.

This easing of restrictions would be limited to one day, that is on Wednesday until the early hours of Thursday.

Curfew restrictions in Chandigarh, imposed in an attempt to slow the spread of coronavirus and which have been eased over the last few months, are from 10 pm to 5 am.  

The administration asked people to follow COVID protocols such as avoiding congestion, strictly adhering to social distancing and wearing masks as they head to temples to offer their prayers.
