Meanwhile, members of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal today met SSP (Traffic) Sumer Pratap Singh and demanded deployment of traffic staff for the smooth flow of traffic on roads near the markets during the festive season.

A request was made to him for providing additional parking space in the community centres and vacant grounds to facilitate public. The Beopar Mandal members said the SSP informed that he had written to the Municipal Corporation for opening community centres for additional parking and their response was awaited.

They have also demanded that the vendors sitting illegally in the parking lots should be checked and shifted to the vending zones.
