A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the BJP membership drive and enrolled himself as the first member, the city BJP today formally launched its campaign this evening from its party office Kamalam in Sector 33.

City BJP president Jatinder Pal Malhotra, along with other senior party leaders and office-bearers, began the membership drive. The party aims to make around 2 lakh members this time in Chandigarh. Every booth has a target of enrolling 300 members.

During the launch today, all BJP leaders and office-bearers renewed their membership. “We celebrate this membership drive as a festival. We celebrated it in 2014, 2019 and are now celebrating in 2024. Our leaders and volunteers will go from house-to-house for the membership drive,” said party president while launching the two-month campaign.

“Our party has made the online process of becoming a member so easy and transparent,” added president Malhotra.

General secretary (organisation) of Chandigarh unit Manthri Srinivasulu, Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Sandhu, ex-MP Kirron Kher, former city BJP presidents Sanjay Tandon and Arun Sood, general secretaries Hukam Chand and Amit Jindal were among others present on the occasion.
