Chandigarh trailed by 39 runs against Railway on the opening day of their CK Nayudu Trophy multi-day match at the GMSSS, Sector 26, cricket ground.

Earlier, Railways declared their first innings at 172/8 in 51.3 overs. In response, Chandigarh reached 133/3 in 31 overs when the stumps were drawn for the day.

Jani Basha (67) and Virat Jaiswal (60) were the top scorers for Railways whereas Neel, Nikhil and Jaskirat shared two wickets each for the bowling side. In reply, Chandigarh’s Dushyant remained unbeaten on 82 while Nikhil contributed 33 before being dismissed.
