UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit attended the function as the chief guest. To drive home the point that every vote counts, Purohit recalled the time he lost an election by a slim margin of 6,000 votes.

The Electoral Literacy Club of PEC enlightened students and staff members about their electoral rights. The faculty members and students at PU also vowed to exercise their franchise. Further, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha of Chandigarh organised a mega event at the Ramleela Ground in Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran.
