Arora, along with Area Councillor Prem Lata and officials from the Road Wing, Horticulture Wing, Public Health Wing, and staff of MOH, inspected the area of Sector 35-B this morning after receiving complaints of water logging and broken roads.
During the inspection, the roads in the sector were found to be in a dilapidated condition and require immediate repair/patchwork.
It was informed by the officers that technical sanction for the road work has already been accorded and tendering will be initiated within a week.
Directions were issued to ensure the timely floating of the tender. Water stagnation was observed, particularly leading to the ingress of storm water into the BBMB Guest House and a nearby Mandir during the current monsoon season.
The officials were directed to execute the provision of additional road gullies and strengthening measures at the earliest to ensure the free flow of stormwater.
A Sahaj Safai Kendra (SSK) was found abandoned in the area.
The Chief Engineer directed that it be put to use for horticulture purposes, specifically for shredding horticulture waste before onward transportation to the processing site. It was also directed that the Road Wing ensure immediate patchwork and timely processing of tenders.
The Public Health Wing was instructed to expedite the splitting of storm water works and the execution of additional drainage arrangements on top priority. The Horticulture Wing was tasked with taking charge of the SSK and operationalizing it for horticulture waste management, and the MOH staff was instructed to coordinate with concerned wings for effective monitoring and compliance.
