Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee president HS Lucky has criticised the recent remarks made by a Madhya Pradesh minister about Colonel Sofiya Qureshi.

The Congress leader accused the BJP of trying to take the credit of the valour of the Indian Army to divert attention from its failures. “The Army belongs to the nation, not to any political party. By making such statements, BJP leaders are not only demeaning the soldiers’ bravery but are also undermining the dignity of national institutions,” he added.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
