Chandigarh, February 18

In view of the Assembly elections in Punjab, the UT Excise and Taxation Department has declared dry days in the areas adjoining the state.

According to an order issued by Vinay Pratap Singh, Excise and Taxation Commissioner, dry days would be observed in 3-km area adjoining Punjab from 6 pm of February 18 till conclusion of polling on February 20 and the day of counting of votes, March 10.

During this period, liquor vends will remain closed. The order was issued as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India.
