Dense fog has caused a series of major train delays in Chandigarh, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded and inconvenienced. The 12011 New Delhi-Kalka Shatabdi Express, which typically departs New Delhi at 7:40 am and is scheduled to reach Chandigarh by 11:40 am, has been rescheduled, now expected to arrive at 2:00 pm due to poor visibility and slower train speeds. As of the latest update, the train is running a staggering 2 hours and 50 minutes behind schedule after it left from New Delhi at 11:14 am.

Another train 14217 Unchahar Express, travelling from Prayagraj to Chandigarh, was originally due to reach the city at 9:15 am but has now been delayed by an overwhelming 12 hours. Passengers, many of whom had planned their day around the arrival, will have to wait until 9:15 pm for the train’s revised arrival. Adding to the chaos, the 19307 Indore-Una Express, which was supposed to arrive at 5 am, arrived here almost 6 hours late at 11 am.

Amidst this disruption, passengers have voiced frustration over the recurrent delays. “Something needs to be done about these delays. Technology has advanced, but every year, trains get delayed due to a natural phenomenon like fog,” said one irate passenger who had just deboarded a delayed train.
