Chandigarh gets 1,700 applications for cracker licence

A draw of lots will be held on October 21 at Bal Bhawan in Sector 23. October 18 is the last date to submit applications.
The administration had invited online applications, with a fee of Rs 500.
The administration has decided to allow the use of green crackers only for two hours on Diwali. Fireworks will be permitted from 8 pm to 10 pm on Diwali, and from 4 am to 5 am & 9 pm to 10 pm on Gurpurb.
