The Chandigarh Hockey Academy (CHA) teams won the Chandigarh State Sub-Junior (boys and girls) Hockey Championships, which concluded at the Sector 42 Sports Complex.

In the girls’ final, the CHA team registered a 5-0 win over Government Model High School, Sector 42. Parmila opened the team’s account in the 14th minute, while Tamanna doubled the lead in the 31st minute. Apram (34th, 49th) scored back-to-back goals to extend the lead to 4-0, while Apram (49th) netted the final goal for the title winners.

Panjab University Hockey Club won the third position by logging an identical 5-0 win over SGGS School, Sector 35. JasCaileen (39th, 46th and 52nd) netted three goals, while Natisha (21st) added one to the tally.

The CHA Red defeated the CHA Blue 2-0 to win the boys’ final. Rajit Singh sounded the wooden plank in the 12th minute, while Misbah Khan doubled the lead in the 14th minute. The university club stood third by defeating the Sector 42 team 5-0.

Mahender Singh, Joint Director, Sports, awarded the winners. Karan Gilhotra, president, Hockey Chandigarh, along with PJ Singh, senior vice-president were also present.
