School students had to wait for about five hours without lunch for Home Minister Amit Shah at the newly built building of the Mauli Jagran government school today.

Some students, who had brought tiffin, could, however, eat. “I came from my school here at 1 pm. I did not have lunch. We were told we will get refreshments here. Now, we got to know that it will be served after the event,” said a little girl.

“We have just been drinking water since 12 noon when our group came here. It has started to pain in my stomach, but we are not allowed to move outside,” added another girl.

A policeman deployed on duty said, “We have seen several students complaining of not feeling well or pain in stomach as they did not have anything other than water. They wanted to go outside.” The children were provided refreshments later. Shah arrived around 5:35 pm and left the venue around 6:30 pm.
