Chandigarh: Karish, a resident of Sector 25-D, reported that he was assaulted by Kalu, Leelu, Sunny, Angad, Mulla and others near the forest area adjacent to the cremation ground in Sector 25 around 8:30 pm. He was injured and admitted to the government hospital in Sector 16.

HP resident duped of Rs 3L

Chandigarh: Partap Singh, a resident of Lakala village, Bilaspur (HP), has accused Maninder Singh, Paramjeet Singh and others of cheating him out of Rs 3 lakh on the pretext of arranging travel abroad through RS Immigration Consultancy located in Sector 17. A cheating case has been registered at the Sector 17 police station.

One held for stealing ‘ghee’

Chandigarh: Rahul, a resident of Hallo Majra, was arrested for stealing a box of desi ghee from SCO 81, Grain Market, Sector 26. A case has been registered at the Sector 26 police station.

Tribune School log victory

Chandigarh: The girl’s U-14 netball team of The Tribune School, Sector 29, logged win over Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, during the Interschool Netball Tournament. The Sector 29 team defeated Carmel Convent 9-5. Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, recorded a 5-3 win over Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19. In the girls’ U-17 category, The Tribune School registered a 19-15 win over Ashiana Public School, Sector 46, and Sacred Heart girls defeated Carmel Convent 14-9. The U-19 team of Sacred Heart School logged a 8-5 win over Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 20.

Hockey trials on tomorrow

Chandigarh: Hockey Chandigarh will organise trials to select a local men’s senior team for the 14th Hockey India Senior National Championship to be held in Chennai from November 4 to 15. The trials will be conducted on October 14 (3 pm) at the Sector 42 Sports Complex. The players registered with the Hockey Chandigarh will be eligible for the trials.
