Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla conducted a review visit to the city’s legacy waste site in Dadumajra today aimed at assessing the present condition of the mound and the pace of ongoing biomining and clearance operations.

After inspecting the area, the Mayor issued strict directions to accelerate the clearing of the legacy waste at the earliest. She instructed the engineering team to deploy additional machines, increase manpower and ensure round-the-clock operations until a substantial reduction in waste heaps is achieved.

The Mayor emphasised that the legacy waste must be cleared as soon as possible to prevent environmental hazards and enhance sanitation. She directed officials to begin planning landscaping and beautification of the reclaimed area so that the site can be transformed into a greener public-friendly space.
