Rajinder Rana, MLA from Sujanpur and Congress coordinator for the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections, has brought Guleria on board.

“The BJP has failed to live up to the expectations of city residents. So, more and more people are joining the Congress,” said Rana.

The leaders joined the party in the presence of Pawan Kumar Bansal, treasurer, National Congress, Pawan Khera, national spokesperson, Subhash Chawla, president of the city party unit, and Congress leader Abhishek Dutt.

The Congress said a team of over 60 leaders from the Himachal Congress, including MLAs, former MLAs and organisation members, reached the city today and took charge as coordinators for party candidates.

The Congress is wooing Himachal Pradesh voters living in Chandigarh. Rana said after a meeting, team members were sent to different sectors to seek votes for party candidates.

He said: “Himachalis as well localities are giving maximum support to Congress candidates. Besides inflation, our team has wisely picked up local issues. People have vowed to root out the BJP for its false promises”. — TNS
