As a tribute to the unwavering dedication of the city’s Safai Mitras and in honour of Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings on sanitation, the municipal corporation (MC) hosted the Zero Waste - Swachh Cultural Fest under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign at the Sector 17 underpass.

Joint Commissioners Isha Kamboj and Shashi Vasundhara, Swachh Bharat Mission brand ambassador Praveen Duggal, Superintending Engineer Horticulture KP Singh and other MC officials attended the celebration.

The celebrations began with a recital of vandana by the MC staff, followed by a series of cultural performances by students of various schools. Speaking on the occasion, MC Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh said, “The MC celebrates Swachhata Hi Seva, a major movement that began on September 17. It will continue until October 2. Swachhata Hi Seva is not merely an initiative, but a movement that requires active participation from everyone.”
