To support the health of its sanitation workers and staff, the Municipal Corporation today began a month-long camp under the “Safai Apnao, Bimaari Bhagao” campaign.

The health camp is being organised in collaboration with the TCI Foundation and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre.

Mayor Kuldeep Kumar inaugurated the mega cancer screening camp at the Community Centre, Sector 11, in the presence of area councillor Sachin Galav, Joint Commissioner Gurinder Singh Sodhi, MOH Inderdeep Kaur, other senior officers and employees of the civic body.

“Cancer cases are increasing in our society, making early detection and timely treatment essential. This camp provides an opportunity to our sanitation workers and employees to get screened for cancer. The camp will promote healthy lifestyle by raising awareness on the early signs and symptoms of cancer,” said the Mayor.
