The local MC has started the work of installing lights at dark spots in Sector 29 from the green belt along the traffic lines.

Councillor Shakti Prakash Devshali said a survey of various ‘dark spots’ of Chandigarh was done by the Municipal Corporation. All such places of Sector 29 and the Industrial Area, Phase I, were identified. During the survey, local residents were also consulted and included in the survey. After this, the work of installing lights was started today under the supervision of Junior Engineer Sunny Thakur of the Electrical Wing.

Devshali said the entire ward, which includes Sector 29 and the Industrial Area Phase I, would be completed in the next one month. He said the Junior Engineer has also been told that even after installing lights on ‘dark spots’, if there was any area where residents complained of darkness, then lights should be installed by using the councillor’s ward development fund.
