Chandigarh: After a gap of eight years, the UT-cadre Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner (AETC) has been appointed here. Harpreet Singh, who came here from Punjab on deputation in June, has been relieved by the Administration.

Chandigarh: A resident of Maloya, Arman Ali, reported that Bau, Abhay, Nitin and others attacked him with rods and sticks in the market. He was admitted to the PGI. The police have registered a case against the suspects.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind.
