A parade was held at the Police Lines, Sector 26, on the occasion of 55th Raising Day of the Chandigarh Police.

UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit was the chief guest and took the salute on the occasion.

UT DGP Parveer Ranjan, while delivering his welcome address, said the UT police were always looking for ways to enhance services for citizens and to provide a crime-free environment to them. The DGP highlighted the services introduced recently, including mobilisation of the police force, making police stations paperless and introducing an anti-eve-teasing squad.

“Many latest and modern technologies and new schemes have been started to build a close bonding with members of the public and to form stronger partnerships between the police and the communities they serve,” the DGP said.
