Chandigarh reported 14 more Covid-19 deaths, a health bulletin from the Chandigarh administration showed on Friday—a development that would come as a cause for worry for a city that has otherwise been reporting a steady decline in the number of infections since last week.

The union territory reported 406 new cases in the last 24 hours, the bulletin showed. Active cases now stand at 5,675—a 30 per cent decline since last Friday. The UT’s total death toll since the pandemic began last year stands at 680.

Chandigarh recorded 790 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the bulletin showed.
