Chandigarh on Tuesday recorded 89 COVID-19 cases, taking the caseload in the Union Territory to 2,305.

The total number of active cases stands at 1,030 as 1,243 patients have been cured to date while 30 have succumbed to the virus.

As per the health officials, Sector-4, 8, Bapu Dham colony, Sector-29, 30, 32, 35, 39, 42, 44, 47, 52, 56, 63, Mani Jagran, Maloya, PGI, Kajheri and Khuda Alisher reported one case each while two cases each were recorded from Sector-10, 22, 37, Dadumajra, Hallo Majra, Mauli Jagran, Raipur Kalan, Dhanas and Kishangarh.

Three cases each surfaced in Sector-15, 19, Khuda Lahora.

Five cases were reported from Sector-38 and 61 while Sector-45 recorded six cases.

Sector-40 reported the highest number of cases at nine.

A total of 22,198 people has been tested for novel coronavirus in the city so far.
