Chandigarh records one new Covid-19 case

Chandigarh on Thursday reported one new Covid-19 case as the total number of cases reached 61,966.

The death toll in the city remains 811.

The number of active cases has fallen to 28 as a total of four patients were discharged, including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per Ministry of Health guidelines.

As many as 1,557 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and a positivity rate of 0.06 per cent was recorded.

The number of people who have got the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine is 6,68,899 while 2,08,739 have got both the doses.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
