Chandigarh reports 111 new cases of Covid-19 and one death

Chandigarh recorded 111 new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday and one death while 226 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours.

The total number of cases in the UT has reached 60,399, of which 1,135 are active cases.

As many as 58,502 people have recovered from the infection so far while 762 people have succumbed to the virus.

A total of 226 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per Health Ministry guidelines.

A 55-year-old man from Dhanas who was suffering from severe acute respiratory infection and leprosy died.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
