Chandigarh reports 20 new Covid-19 cases

Chandigarh reported 20 new Covid-19 cases over the last 24 hours, a health bulletin from the union territory’s administration said on Saturday.

The UT has reported no new deaths for the third consecutive day on Saturday.

Chandigarh now has 220 active cases, with an average positivity rate of 1.55 per cent over the last week. The bulletin said 1,573 samples had been tested over the last week.

Meanwhile, 4,17,038 people have received one dose of Covid vaccine in the city, while 81,714 are fully vaccinated, the bulletin showed.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
