Chandigarh reports 239 new cases of COVID-19 and 2 deaths

Chandigarh, September 2
Chandigarh on Wednesday reported 239 new cases of COVID-19, taking the tally to 4,789.
This is the first time that the city has crossed the 2,000 mark in active cases.
The day also witnessed two COVID-19 deaths taking the death toll due to the deadly virus to 59.
As many as 2,670 patients have been cured till date while 2,057 are active cases.
A 27-year-old male, resident of Sector 44, who was a patient of diabetic ketoacidosis, died at GMCH-32 on Tuesday.
A 75-year-old male, resident of Sector 23, who had a history of hypertension, died at GMCH-32 due to type 1 respiratory failure on Tuesday.
