Chandigarh, August 11
Chandigarh reported 75 new coronavirus cases and one more fatality on Tuesday, taking the union territory’s tally to 1,670 with 26 deaths.

An 81-year-old woman from Sector 43 tested died at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research on Monday, hours after she tested positive. She had a history of heart problems and had a stent.
Forty-seven of the UT’s 75 new cases were detected through RT-PCR tests for COVID-19, Chandigarh’s evening medical bulletin said. The rest were found through the rapid antigen tests.
Seven of the new cases were people over 60—four of these over 65.
