Chandigarh reports one death and 58 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, taking the Union Territory’s death toll to 24.

The city’s coronavirus tally stands at 1,426.

The COVID-19 death was a resident of Sector 45. The 60-year-old woman died at GMCH-32 on Friday. She was a diabetic patient and was admitted on July 5 with high-levels of blood sugar.

Now, the city has 529 active cases.

So far, 872 patients have recovered from the deadly disease and discharged from the hospital in the city.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
