Chandigarh: The city on Friday reported 54 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the UT tally to 20,201. The city also witnessed one Covid death. An 82-year-old Covid patient from Sector 38 (West), a case of type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension, died at the PGI. The Covid toll now stands at 326. A total of 55 more patients recovered from the infectious disease. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
