Chandigarh has slipped to the second position among UTs in the fourth Health Index report released by NITI Aayog, the government think tank, today. Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu bagged the top spot.

According to the report, Chandigarh dropped from the first place in the base year (2018-19) to second in the reference year (2019-20). Chandigarh scored 73.38 in the base year, but dropped to 62.53 in the reference year.

The report also revealed that the city recorded a fall in full immunisation coverage during 2014-15 to 2019-20, but registered an increase of 47.5 per cent (highest) in the first trimester ANC registration during this period. — TNS
