Chandigarh: Thieves break into ATM in Kishangarh, loot over Rs 7.60 lakh

Unidentified miscreant robbed an ATM of Union Bank of India at Kishangarh on Wednesday night.

They stole around Rs 7.60 lakh.

The accused walked into the ATM at around 8.30 pm, opened the machine from the rear end and stole the cash.

Cops are suspecting this to be an inside job—who knew the code to open the machine. The footage of the CCTV camera revealed that a man with his face covered walked into the booth and opened the back of the machine.

Then, he stole the cash and left.

The incident came to light on Thursday morning when the staff noticed that there was no cash in the ATM.

The police were informed about the incident. They reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Forensic experts also visited the spot and lifted the fingerprints.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at IT Park police station.
