Chandigarh University students to represent Indian in World University Games

With this, the CU had become the private university with the second-highest representation in India to send one of the largest contingents of athletes to the World University Games, claimed the spokesperson.
The FISU World University Games, which are organised biennially by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) is world’s largest multi-sport event for student athletes after Olympic Games. In this year’s edition, more than 8,500 athletes and officials from over 150 countries will compete in 18 sporting disciplines. Local players will be representing the nation in eight sporting disciplines including table tennis, athletics, swimming, archery, judo, fencing, rowing and volleyball.
From the CU, Divyansh Srivastava, Syed Ali Abbas and Ananya Chande will vie for medals in table tennis; Priya, Tanushree, Tanya, Vanshika, Savan, Sanjay Kumar, Rahul and Shiksha will showcase their sporting talent in athletics; Yash S Ghangas in Judo; Aditya Dubey, Anurag Singh and Harsh Saroha in swimming; Sakshi Dubey in volleyball; Avneet Kaur in archery; Rahul and Lokesh in fencing; Vishal, Rohit Bedwal, Rajat Kumar, Ankit, Saurabh and Harvinder Singh Cheema will represent the nation in rowing.
