Chandigarh: An unidentified woman has been booked for abandoning her girl child. Parveen Kumar, a resident of Yamuna Nagar, reported that a woman left her child with him at a park in front of Emergency Ward of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32. The woman had told him that she would return in a while. The police have registered a case under Section 93 (exposure and abandonment of child under 12 years by parent or person having care of it) of BNS. TNS

Phone robbed at knifepoint

Chandigarh: Two motorcycle-borne persons have robbed a man of his mobile phone at knifepoint. Aakil, a resident of Dadu Majra, reported that he was robbed near the Sector 37/41 light point. A case has been registered at the Sector 39 police station. TNS

Scooterist hurt in accident

Chandigarh: A scooterist got injured after he was hit by a car at Mani Majra. Sunder Lal Gupta reported the scooter driven by Pawan Kumar was hit by a car near Old Ropar Road. The victim was admitted to the PGI. The police have registered a case under Sections 125(A) and 281 of the BNS and started investigation. TNS

Bicycle stolen from Sec 8

Chandigarh: An electric bicycle was stolen from Sector 8. The police have registered a case at the Sector 3 police station on a complaint filed by Gaurav. He said he had left his bicycle near SCO 161.
