Chandigarh: A 20-year-old youth has been arrested by the district crime cell of the UT police with ganja. According to the police, the suspect, Balwinder Karanjit Singh, a resident of Rajiv Colony, Sector 17, Panchkula, was nabbed from Mauli Jagran with 5.11 kg of ganja. A case has been registered at the Mauli Jagran police station. TNS

300 cellphones stolen from shop

Chandigarh: Miscreants stole around 300 mobile phones from a shop near Singh Shaheedan Gurdwara on the night of June 12. Complainant Saurabh said he came to know about the theft when he came to open the shop in the morning. The thieves had broken open a portion of a wall on one side to gain entry into the shop. The police seized a hammer, a torch and other tools used to break the wall. The police are scanning the CCTV footage of the area.
