Protesting against the inaction of the BJP government at the Centre and the UP government in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, the Chandigarh Youth Congress today observed “maun vrat” in front of the Punjab Governor’s House.

“The protest was to mirror the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on the incident. The two have not commented directly or indirectly so far,” said Youth Congress president Manoj Lubana.

City party president Subhash Chawla said: “Even after seven days of the massacre with farmers in Lakhimpur, the Union Minister of State for Home is yet to be sacked.” — TNS
