Chandigarh: The city railway station got its first railway consumption depot (RCD). It was pressed into service to meet the demand of fuel consumption of trains plying over the city station. “The depot has been set up by the BPCL and the project was incepted about a year and a half ago,” said JP Singh, Station Superintendent, Chandigarh station, Ambala Division of Northern Railways. “At present, we have six trains that originate from here. The RCD will make it easier for trains to fuel up here. Having a depot here will save time and energy,” he said. TNS
