Chandra Jyoti is a history (Honours) graduate from St Stephen’s College, New Delhi. She cleared the civil services exam in her first attempt itself.

She studied for six to eight hours regularly and up to 10 hours before exams. Becoming a civil servant has been her childhood dream, she shares. Sharing her examination strategy, she said she would make short notes and flow charts for revision. Chandra Jyoti said: “I knew I wanted to clear this exam since childhood and had clear goals. I was not demoralised when I scored low marks in mock tests. I did not go to any coaching institute and relied on self-study.” Her father is a doctor and mother is homemaker. — TNS
