The police have filed a chargesheet against Rajbir Singh, alias Rajan Bhatti, who was allegedly found in possession of a mobile phone while being lodged in Burail Jail last year.

A resident of Mustafabad Jattan village in Gurdaspur, Bhatti has multiple cases registered against him in Punjab and Chandigarh.

After the phone was found on him, the police had registered a case on April 22, 2021, under Section 52-A (1) of the Prisons (Punjab Amendment) Act, 2011, on a complaint of Amendeep Singh, Additional Superintendent, Model Jail, Chandigarh.

The complainant had stated that during a checking of Bhatti’s barrack in the Burail jail, a mobile phone, an ear phone and a 4G SIM card was recovered from him.
