Chandigarh, August 1
The police have filed the chargesheet in the murder case of Ajit Singh, special police officer (SPO) of Haryana Police.
The chargesheet has been filed against two accused, Jaswinder Singh, and Rohan Singh, both residents of Patiala, in the case under Sections 302, 397, 473, 411 and 34 of the IPC.
The body of Ajit Singh was found in the forest area of Sector 56 on April 23 this year. A blood-stained stone and a sharp weapon were found near the spot.
The police had arrested the accused a week after the investigation.
The SPO was returning from duty when the two accused, who had come to Chandigarh by train, took lift from him. A sudden provocation on the way led to the murder. The accused with his belongings, including wallet, mobile phone and bike. — TNS
