The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has won HUDCO Award for 2019-20 for best practices to improve the living environment under the theme “Housing, urban poverty and infrastructure”.

The award was given to the CHB for its best practices adopted in slum rehabilitation project at Maloya-I. Also, the practice adopted by the CHB, which demonstrated a positive and tangible impact on improving the living environment of people particularly the poor and disadvantaged, was recognised by the HUDCO award.

Official spokesperson stated that in Maloya, the CHB constructed 4,960 small flats under the slum rehabilitation programme, which were handed over to residents mostly from Colony No. 4.
