The local women’s carrom team claimed third position in the team championship of the 52nd Senior National Championship held in New Delhi.

The team, comprising Tuba Sehar (captain), Vaidhavi Mamgain, Maryam Khan, Sangini Mamgain, Saroj Chandel and Ayesha, played league matches in their respective groups to earn maximum points to ensure qualification of the team in the quarter finals. In the quarterfinal knock out round, the city girls thrashed Telangana 2–1 to enter into the semifinals, where the team went down to Tamil Nadu 1–2.

In the playoff match for the third position, the city girls outclassed Bengal 3–0. In the women’s singles event, Tuba Sehar claimed the fourth position to grab the annual 5th rank in India for the year 2024–25.In the women’s singles event, Tuba won all the matches in the league group to stay at the top in the group to book berth in the top-64 for knock out rounds. In league, Tuba defeated Leenaaharwal of Gujarat 25-00 25-00 and Sukhman (Meghalaya) 25-05 19-17.

In the knock out rounds, Tuba outclassed Sareeja (Telangana) 25-01 25-00, C Denina (Tamil Nadu) 22-10 25-10 and in the pre-quarterfinals, she defeated world champion Rashmikumari (PSPB) 21-18 13-25 25-02. In the quarterfinals, she overpowered Kavita Somanchi (RBI) 25-11 12-23 25-00.

In the semis, Tuba lost to the current world cup winner M Khazima (PSPB) 10-12 06-25. In the playoff match for the third and fourth position she went down against V Mithra (PSPB) 10-23 25-02 11-22 to stay at 4th position in the women’s singles event. She secured fifth rank in India in the annual ranking announced by the all India Carrom Federation for 2024-2025.
