The trio of Ekaaksha Partap Singh Negi, Vivaan Mittal and Shashank Seshan led the pack with three points each on the second day of the 35th Chandigarh State Chess Championship-2025 after the round 3.

Abhinav Bansal, Akshun Punchhi, Pratyush Singh, Atharv Singh Negi, Sidharth Bhargav, Taroosh Singal, Samaira Taneja, Jayant Atwal, Dishant Bansal, Kamya Kumari and Hridhaan Sikka scored two points each, while Amogh Agrawal, Amittej Kalia, Swastik Singhal, Aayra Singh, Anuj Bhatt and Ayush Mani scored 1.5 points each. Prabhav Atwal, Rohiin Singal, Jayant Verma, Swadhrit Seth, Chaitanya Bansal, Tejas Rai Aggarwal, Shiven Grover, Parth Verma and Japatjeet Singh Kahlon trailed at one point each.

Four players will be selected to represent Chandigarh at the forthcoming National to be held in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, from September 20 to October 1.
